Allow yourself to be upset, to cry, to be angry or feel low. Show your real emotions, express how you feel, how you truly feel and own it. There is nothing wrong with having a bad day, or even a bad week! There is nothing wrong with being you, with feeling vulnerable, with feeling emotional. It's human and normal. You are tough, strong and resilient - but don't act like everything is okay and you're the toughest person in the world because even the toughest people break; it doesn't make you less of a person. It's OK to not be OK. Self-care is so important ❤️✌️ _ #itsokaynottobeokay #itsoknottobeok #Depression #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthquotes #quotestomotivateyou #quotestoliveby #mikemeetslife

Your life is your own, you will have your time to shine and only your journey is what should matter to you. Don't be dampened by other people's light. Use it to inspire and motivate. One day it just clicks. You realise what’s important and what isn’t. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realise how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that they’d never recover. And then you smile. You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become. _ #oneday #realisation #truth #journey #strength #anxiety #depresssion #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthquotes #quotestoliveby #quotestomotivateyou #mikemeetslife

🎉 Wahoo. Got home to an email telling me I've completely passed my Crisis Counselling course. I've scheduled my first 2 hour shift to help people in Crisis and I can't wait. It'll be tough I know but I'm so pleased I can give something back. The text number isn't fully released in the UK yet, only via a number of charities. Once it is fully released I'll share more details so hopefully more people will access the service if they are in crisis. #counselling #training #help #support

A friend recently told me that they'd been "told about my blog". I was positively curious, so I asked more. They said they were told by someone we mutually knew a few years ago, who told them to "check it out..." And laughed. It transpires that they thought my page was laughable. That it was in some way a joke. That because it was me (someone they knew) they could mock it and me. This page was set up to share my story of depression, anxiety and bullying. It was set up to help others, to hopefully motivate others, to raise awareness about these issues. I took a brave and bold decision to do this, publically, and share this with the people I know. Because I was putting some of my most personal life experiences out in the open. But I'd do it again because I believe raising awareness and sharing stories is the key to help, support and showing people that it's "ok to talk". Somehow, I know of a lot of people. Many of them don't follow my page, but have all been invited. Some chose to follow other popular similar pages, which share quotes and motivatational posts and happily share the content on their own social platforms - that's fine, this isn't a competition. And some do follow, share, interact with my page - which only helps spread my story and general awareness. I continue to do this, despite the mockery, because it is important to me. Deeply important. And I won't stop because of a minority. I've had messages from people saying thank you. I've had messages from people sharing their story. I've had people saying that some of my posts have inspired and motivated them and given them a fresh outlook. High priase indeed. Amongst my regular posts, I've written some blog posts:- Depression "Just Is": Say No to Bullying: Build Confidence, Beat Bullying: An Anxious Mind: Nobody can put you down:
